The opportunity
Birchwell Associates is supporting a growing digital organisation in the search for a Head of Product Design. This role will suit an experienced design leader who can combine strategic influence, team development and a high bar for product quality.
You will lead product design and research capability, work closely with product and technology leaders and shape how customer insight, design systems and design practice support business growth.
What you will be doing
- Set product-design vision, strategy and operating standards across the organisation.
- Lead, coach and develop product designers, UX specialists and researchers.
- Partner with product, engineering and commercial leaders on priorities and investment.
- Improve discovery, critique, research, design-system and delivery practices.
- Build effective hiring, progression, performance and team-development processes.
- Represent customer experience and design quality in senior strategic decision-making.
What we are looking for
- Strong experience leading product-design teams in a digital, SaaS or technology environment.
- A background in product design, UX or service design with strong portfolio credibility.
- Experience managing senior designers, researchers or design managers.
- A track record of shaping design strategy and influencing product direction.
- Strong understanding of discovery, research, design systems and cross-functional delivery.
- Excellent leadership, communication and senior stakeholder-management skills.
What is on offer
- Salary between £85,000 and £105,000, depending on experience.
