Network Engineer.
Maintain and improve secure enterprise networks across multiple sites and cloud-connected services. Work across routing, switching, firewalls, connectivity and network resilience.
The opportunity
Birchwell Associates is supporting a growing organisation in the search for a Network Engineer. This role will suit a networking professional who enjoys combining operational support, project delivery and continuous service improvement.
You will support secure multi-site connectivity, cloud-linked network services and key infrastructure projects while working closely with infrastructure, security and supplier teams.
What you will be doing
- Support, maintain and improve LAN, WAN, wireless and multi-site network services.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs and secure connectivity.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, availability and security events.
- Contribute to network upgrades, migrations, site deployments and cloud-connectivity projects.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards and change records.
- Work with suppliers and technical teams to resolve incidents and improve resilience.
What we are looking for
- Strong commercial experience in a network engineering or senior network support role.
- Good knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN technologies.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and secure network design.
- Experience supporting multi-site, wireless and cloud-connected network environments.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba or comparable platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder-communication skills.
What is on offer
- Salary between £45,000 and £60,000, depending on experience.
